Skin of our Teeth

"The Skin of our Teeth" by Thornton Wilder
June 19, 20, 21, 2009
Ottawa Municipal Auditorium

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, this is the satiric story of the extraordinary Antrobus family down through the ages from the time of the war any war. They have survived flood, fire, pestilence, the seven year locusts, the ice age, the pox and the double feature, a dozen wars and as many depressions. Ultimately bewitched, befuddled and becalmed, they are the stuff of which heroes and buffoons are made. Their survival is a wacky testament of faith in humanity.

Director: John White

Lost Daughter

"Lost Daughter" by Tara Goldstein
August 24th, 25th, 26th, 2007
Ottawa Municipal Auditorium

Set in the city of Toronto in the summer of 1933, when Gentile youth wear swastika badges to keep the city's Jews out of the public parks and beaches, the play is a historical drama inspired by William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice. In telling the story of what happens to Shylock's daughter Jessica after she elopes with her Gentile husband Larry, the play explores issues of cultural conflict and the possibilities of Jewish forgiveness.

Director: Jeanne M. Haggard
